Rental Process

How do I rent a Costume?

This is a deceptively simple process, and there are two ways to begin:
  1. Stop into our booth at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

  2. Contact Us to arrange a consultation.

From there, we will take the appropriate action to ensure the smoothest, best suited experience possible.

(Though, please note that your opinion matters to us, and we will do our best to meet any style and/or color preferences, but try to trust our opinion and input- the vast majority of us have been dealing with these costumes for years.)
Minnesota Renaissance Festival
One of our floor personnel will approach you (please be aware that some days are busier that others and it may take a little bit of time to get to you) and begin asking you about your plans, previous experiences, and answering any questions.
When we have an idea of what you're looking for, we will begin to show you your options.
Again, all our costumes are handmade and unique, so do not expect two costumes to be alike.
Once you've picked a costume to try-on, we will give a basket to put your clothing and anything you don't want to carry in, and find a dressing room for you.
Admittedly, the first costume is not always "the one", but we will let you try-on any number of them until you find the one that satisfies you.
We will lace you into it, if necessary, outfit you with accessories if needed, and then have you fill out a little bit of paperwork.
Once you have signed and paid (we charge the rental fee at the beginning of your rental), your clothing will be stored in a secure area in the back of our shop and you will be free to frolic.
We ask that you return to our booth within 15 minutes of the final cannon (7PM), but feel free to return earlier.
By Appointment
We will contact you and set-up an appointment- as our business is run out of our home and we have several work schedules to plan around.

However, never fear! We will speak to you as promptly as we are able and plan a meeting.

This initial appointment can last anywhere from 15 minutes (single costume reservation) to several hours (large groups and parties). We usually expect an appointment to cover 30-60 minutes.

We will show you your options based on any prerequisites and style preferences.

You will try on the costumes you deem the most apt choices and find the one you like best.

We will negotiate a price (see the previous page- most costumes are rented at a set price per event, not day) and then have you sign an agreement for the temporary ownership of the costume..

From there you can either take the costume with you, or pick it up at a later date.

Custom Rentals & Group Rentals
If you need a custom costume, or are looking to rental costumes for a large group- such a play cast, the process will be much the same as "By Appointment".
The first step is to simply contact us so that we can review your requirements, and we'll determine the next best step.
